Mr. Rogers is an Operating Partner at Ajax Strategies, a venture capital firm focused on technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Mr. Rogers is a Senior Partner Emeritus with McKinsey & Company and previously served as a Partner and Senior Partner from 1999 to 2021 where he also led McKinsey’s Energy and Sustainability practices, serving electric and gas utilities, major oil companies, and energy technology innovators globally. From 2009 to 2010, Mr. Rogers briefly left McKinsey to serve as the Senior Advisor to the US Secretary of Energy, where he led implementation of the $35 billion Recovery Act program. He has written extensively on energy and climate solutions, including co-authoring the 2014 book, Resource Revolution: How to Capture the Biggest Business Opportunity in a Century.
Mr. Rogers is a director of Natel Energy, a hydropower company, a director of Upstream Tech, which builds software to manage water flows and land use, a Board Advisor for Ojjo, a solar foundations installer, and a member of the National Petroleum Council. He has taught on sustainability topics at both the Stanford Graduate School of Business and at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. He previously served on the U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board from 2011 to 2013.
