“Education is powerful. Exelon is changing lives.”
Nicole C., Associate Engineer, ComEd
From a South Side high school classroom to the engineering floor of ComEd, Nicole's journey is a testament to the transformative power of seeing yourself represented in STEM. As a first–generation college student and immigrant from Ecuador, she arrived at the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy for young women uncertain if higher education was even within reach.
Then came Exelon, with mentors, a full–ride scholarship, and three strategic internships that didn't just teach her engineering — they showed her that girls like her belonged in these spaces. Today, Nicole is thriving as an Associate Engineer in ComEd's New Graduate Rotational Program, but her greatest pride? Envisioning herself mentoring the next generation of young women who need to see what she sees now: that with support, hard work, and opportunity, anything is possible.
“Working at Exelon, there's always a training opportunity...something more.”
Asata M., Associate Business Program Manager, Exelon
Six years. That's how long Asata's relationship with Exelon spans — from a 17–year–old in the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy to an accomplished Associate Business Program Manager navigating complex environmental compliance.
But this isn't a simple career progression; it's what real career partnership looks like — from a company that truly sees its people. Through three separate internships, the Chris Crane Memorial Scholarship, and mentors who never stopped believing she could do more, Asata discovered her passion for environmental work and found her place.
What sets Exelon apart, she'll tell you, is that the company cares about your whole person — not just your job title, but who you're becoming. In Asata's words, "there is always something at Exelon for you" — and she's living proof.
“The unconditional support from my Exelon educational experience was life-changing.”
Danie T., Associate Engineer, Pepco
Danie was just 14 when she walked into the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy — young enough to dream big, but old enough to know that dreams require support. Her first tour of a nuclear plant wasn't just a field trip; it became a calling.
Armed with the Exelon Chris Crane Memorial Scholarship, she moved through college debt–free, supported at every turn by mentors who believed in her potential. Through three internships and into her current role as an Associate Engineer on Pepco's Substation Electrical Team, Danielle has discovered something profound: Exelon isn't just a place to work, it's a community that invests in your growth with genuine conviction.
After just one year, she's already committed to pouring back into the system that lifted her up.
