CHICAGO – Exelon Corp., the nation’s largest producer of carbon-free energy and the largest utility company by customer count, reiterated its strong support for the Build Back Better plan following today’s passage of the landmark legislation in the House. Chris Crane, president and CEO of Exelon, issued the following statement in support of the bill’s climate provisions:
“Exelon applauds Friday’s House vote to approve the Build Back Better plan, which provides a framework for America to support and grow clean energy jobs, unleash innovative new technologies and address a growing climate crisis that threatens our economy and way of life. This plan will transform our energy grid, accelerating the growth of renewable energy while recognizing the critical role that nuclear energy continues to play as our nation’s largest and most reliable source of zero-carbon energy. Alongside the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, these policies represent the most consequential climate legislation in a generation and will cement America’s leadership on one of the greatest challenges of our time. We urge the Senate to take up reconciliation legislation quickly and pass these critical clean energy policies into law.”
