Prior to serving as Exelon’s EVP, Chief Customer and Technology Officer, Peterson worked at Xcel Energy leading the company’s customer and employee experience, IT and digital functions. Peterson has more than two decades of experience leading large multi-function teams, complex initiatives and company transformation efforts, including large-scale grid modernization and customer billing system upgrades. Prior to that role, Peterson held chief information officer roles at large, customer-focused organizations, including Optum, Wellmark and TruStage Financial Group.
Peterson has been an active member of the Minneapolis-St. Paul community, serving on the boards of the Science Museum of Minnesota and the Minnesota Technology Association.
Peterson holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
