ComEd is one of America’s largest utilities. The company is headquartered in Chicago with more than 4 million customers across the northern Illinois region. In 2012, ComEd launched one of the largest grid modernization and Smart Grid programs in the nation, supporting thousands of jobs and driving innovation to meet evolving customer needs.

ComEd’s service territory comprises the majority of northern Illinois, including the Chicago metropolitan area. It extends to the Wisconsin border to the north, the Iowa border to the west, the Indiana bo​rder to the east, and Iroquois County to the south (roughly Interstate 80).

Gil Quiniones leads ComEd, an Exelon company, which powers the lives of more than 4 million residential and business customers, or 70 percent of Illinois’ population. He is responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to customers and for empowering them to manage their energy use. He oversees the management of the electric grid for Chicago and most of northern Illinois and ComEd’s partnerships with the diverse communities it serves.
