Q)What are the Benefits of Converting to Natural Gas?
A) The benefits of converting to natural gas heating are many, which is why more U.S. homes are heated with natural gas than all other fuel types combined. These benefits fall into three main categories:

Value
Natural gas provides great value thanks to limited-time rebates and discounts; flexible financing, payment options and assistance programs; superior energy efficiency; and lower equipment maintenance costs.

For more detailed information on the value of natural gas, see the “Benefits of Natural Gas: Value” section of this Web site.

Comfort
Natural gas provides you with comfort on so many levels: it’s clean, reliable, better for the environment and it feels great.

For more detailed information on the comfort of natural gas, see the “Benefits of Natural Gas: Comfort” section of this Web site.

Versatility
In addition to providing home heating, natural gas powers many appliances and amenities that enhance the value of your home and the quality of your life.

For more detailed information on the versatility of natural gas, see the “Benefits of Natural Gas: Versatility” section of this Web site.

Q) What Financial Incentives are Available for Converting to Natural Gas?
A) There are a number of financial incentives for converting to natural gas. They include:

Limited-Time Rebates and Discounts.
By converting to natural gas heat within specified time periods, you may be eligible for a rebate from PECO and equipment/installation discounts through an Electrical Association of Philadelphia (EAP) Natural Gas Conversion Contractor.

PECO rebates are credited to your utility bill. Please allow four to six weeks for all PECO bill credits to appear on your utility bill. EAP discounts are deducted from your overall equipment and installation cost.

Q) What is Involved in Converting to Natural Gas?
A) Converting to natural gas heat is a simple five-step process (for more detail, see the “Convert to Natural Gas: Process” section of this Web site):

STEP ONE
Determine whether or not you already have a natural gas service line on your property.

STEP TWO
Contact PECO at 1-888-499-7808 or by e-mail to set up an appointment with an Electrical Association of Philadelphia (EAP) Natural Gas Conversion Contractor, or to learn more about the conversion program.

STEP THREE
Meet with your EAP Conversion Contractor and receive a free, no-obligation cost estimate for the natural gas equipment and installation.

STEP FOUR
Sign the PECO Natural Gas Conversion Agreement and return it to PECO (applies only to properties that currently do not have a natural gas service line).

STEP FIVE
Once your natural gas conversion installation is completed, fill out and sign the PECO Natural Gas Conversion Rebate Form, along with a copy of your PAID invoice to PECO.

If you do not currently have a natural gas service line, you may be able to have one installed if natural gas is available in your area.

Q) What is the Electrical Association of Philadelphia (EAP) Natural Gas Conversion Program?
A) The EAP Natural Gas Conversion Program is a joint effort between PECO and EAP to provide financial incentives and a more streamlined process for PECO’s residential customers for converting to natural gas heating. For more information on the program, see the “Convert to Natural Gas: Incentives” section of this Web site.
