How will PECO know if my company reduces its energy use – will it receive a report?
- Participants in a PECO Smart Returns program are equipped with meters that register interval usage. Since these meters constantly report energy use, PECO is able to determine each participant’s performance level and financial rewards/credits earned.
- Your bill will reflect your reduction in energy use for periods PECO requests. Please ask your PECO Account Manager or call 866-850-0357 for more details.
Can my company reduce energy use anytime it wants and still receive a credit?
- Participants may only receive credit for reducing it energy use when requested by PECO. To receive your full financial reward, you must perform as agreed to in your program contract.
Does my company have to shut down its entire operation to participate – how will business functions be affected?
- Your company can reduce its energy use by a lot or a little. Raising the temperature and turning off unused lights are examples of minor reductions, while operating an on-site generator or rescheduling production lines will allow for greater energy reduction and greater benefits. Your company decides which level is best, although there is a minimum 100 kilowatt reduction required to sign up for Smart Returns. What kind of financial reward/credit can my company expect?
- Your company’s actual reward in the form of a bill credit will be based on a number of factors, which can include the amount of advance notice your company requires, the amount of energy your company can reduce and the program your company selects.
When will my company receive its financial reward/credit?
- A mandatory program (ILR) credit will be applied to your company’s monthly bill. A credit will be applied to your company’s December bill for its summer months’ performance if it participates in the voluntary (VLR) program
