You may be asked to verify your identity when starting new service. If you are requested to do this by ComEd before your service can be connected, visit a local Positive Identification Agent.
You will need to provide at least 2 of the following forms of identification with at least one photo id:
Primary Proof of Identification
- Drivers License
- Employee Identification Card (must contain picture)
- TANF Identification Card (must contain picture)
- Military Service Identification Card (must contain picture)
- Passport (must contain picture)
- Naturalization Papers (must contain picture)
- State Identification Card (must contain picture)
- Weapon Registration Permit Card (must contain picture)
- Social Security Card
- Taxpayers Identification Number (W7)
Other Forms of Identification
- Employee Information (payroll stub with employer name)
- Lease
- Major Credit, Debit or ATM Card
- W-2 Form
- Birth Certificate
- Marriage License
