Exelon's Diversity Vision
At Exelon we share a passion for diversity and inclusiveness that guides the way we work and do business. We believe in the competitive advantage that results from the energy and value each of us brings to the workplace. We will create an inclusive and diverse environment by learning from the best, building the skills to succeed and rewarding results.

I. Achieving the Vision Within Supply
Valuing and creating diversity among our suppliers and our employees is driven by two key business needs. The first need is to support a supplier base that matches our customer base. Supporting a diverse supplier base keeps us connected to our customer base, and helps us to meet our corporate responsibility of giving back to the community from which we draw our income. The second need relates to Supply Management's function of identifying and implementing creative initiatives that drive costs out of the supply chain. The source of these new thoughts and ideas comes from collaborative work between employees and suppliers with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that creating a diverse workforce and diverse supplier base will provide us with the information and knowledge needed to implement improvements throughout the supply chains of each commodity area, thereby providing Exelon with a sustainable competitive advantage.

II. Areas of Opportunity
Exelon’s primary goal is to increase our spend with minority and women-owned businesses (MWBEs) while achieving Supply-enabled savings for Exelon. To be successful in these efforts, we have implemented a comprehensive Supplier Diversity program that enables us to identify qualified MWBE candidates, establishes aggressive annual MWBE spend goals, and regularly monitors and reports our performance relative to those goals.

III.  2nd Tier Program
Although our primary focus is to increase 1st Tier (prime supplier) MWBE spend, we also require our non-minority prime suppliers to report 2nd Tier MWBE spend. This effort includes evaluating the supplier diversity programs of potential non-minority prime suppliers, and assisting such suppliers in securing 2nd Tier MWBEs whenever possible.  Also, to facilitate 2nd Tier reporting and promote full participation, Exelon has established a web-based reporting tool.
