Hogs are helping aid local veterans. Three Mile Island held a fundraiser at Tattered Flag on Friday, June 1 for Operation Homefront. TMI's Generation Nation members organized a charity motorcycle ride that has raised nearly $8,000.
The ride was scheduled for Saturday, June 2 and has since been postponed to Saturday, August 11 due to weather. Riders from TMI, Peach Bottom Atomic Generating Station, Limerick Generating Station, and Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in Maryland are slated to meet in Londonderry Township an embark on a full day ride to Battlefield Gettysburg and eventually the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pa. Our Generation Nation members and riders will honor the brave men and women who keep us safe throughout the day with special thanks and recognitions of area VFWs.
Between the dinner and ride, the $8,000 raised will go to Operation Homefront, a non-profit organization that helps veterans and their families with financial and emotional assistance. This is just another way TMI is committed to giving back to our community and those who protect our freedom.
