As part of Exelon Generation's ongoing effort to grow our business through innovative joint ventures and operational partnerships, we have a contract with Horizon Nuclear Power to provide operational readiness support as they pursue the construction of two ABWR units in the United Kingdom. As part of the services agreement with Horizon, Exelon facilitates benchmarking at our BWR sites, which allows them to experience an operational BWR.
NMP hosted two guests from Horizon: Matthew Castle – head of Radiation Protection and Environment: Technical Department; and Geoff Hall – Senior Radiation Protection Engineer. The pair visited to learn about our fleet's Radiation Protection and Radwaste programs. Specifically, Matthew and Geoff are seeking to gain detailed knowledge of how our RP and Radioactive Waste programs are implemented during outages, as well as gain overall plant knowledge and familiarization with our operating procedures.
