Maggie Fitzpatrick Joins Exelon as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs

Former Johnson & Johnson executive will oversee all Communications, Philanthropy and Customer Engagement for the nation’s leading energy provider

​CHICAGO—Exelon today announced it has appointed Maggie FitzPatrick as senior vice president of Corporate Affairs, Philanthropy and Customer Engagement, effective Aug. 29, 2016. 

FitzPatrick will have oversight of communications, brand strategy, and customer engagement. She will also oversee the distribution of nearly $40 million in annual giving from Exelon.

In this role, FitzPatrick will be responsible for the Exelon marketing communications infrastructure, and deepening trust and engagement with millions of customers in hundreds of communities served by the company.

Her track record and long-standing commitment to customer and community engagement will be important assets as we drive innovation, growth and Exelon’s leadership in shaping our nation’s sustainable energy future,” said Chris Crane, president and CEO, Exelon. “I am delighted to welcome Maggie to Exelon’s Executive Committee and look forward to her contributions to our senior leadership team.”

FitzPatrick holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Policy Studies from Syracuse University, and an M.A. in Public Policy from The George Washington University.  

FitzPatrick recently served as Global Chief Communication Officer and Vice President of Public Affairs at Johnson & Johnson, a Fortune 100 company and the world’s largest healthcare company. Prior to J&J, FitzPatrick was Global Chief Communication Officer and President of the Foundation at Cigna. 

FitzPatrick serves on the boards of the National Partnership for Women and Families and Achilles International. In 2015 she was named one of the most powerful people in public relations by PR Week Magazine. She is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Arthur Page Society, and is a member of The Seminar, a leading global communications consortium. 

She will reside in Washington, D.C., with her family.
