Lucky Green 4-H Visits Braidwood Station

Lucky Green 4-H (of Grundy County) visited Braidwood Station’s training 38a554a3-1641-4381-a1af-af20ee0a839a.jpgcenter on Essex Rd to learn more about nuclear power from plant employees. Lucky Green members listened to a nuclear 101 presentation, learned about radiation, dressed out in protective clothing, toured the control room simulator and took a bus trip around the perimeter of Braidwood Station to see the plant firsthand.

The group left after a lunch with Braidwood employees, saying how eye-opening it was to learn about the facility and its importance to the community from an economic perspective both locally and regionally.
