On Saturday, May 5 Limerick Station Maintenance teammates Matt Embert, Ray Meza, Matt Schoff and Ryan Geller represented Limerick Generating
Station at The Laurel House's Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event in Collegeville, PA.
As part of Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, men don high heels and walk a mile to raise awareness for domestic abuse. The event raises funds for Laurel House, a comprehensive domestic violence agency in Montgomery County.
Matt Schoff, Maintenance Supervisor, shared more about his experience walking in the event for the first time. "After the event, I had the opportunity to talk with my young son when he asked why I would wear high heels out in public. I was able to talk to him about the ugliness of domestic violence. We talked about how The Laurel House helps protect families and how the walk spreads awareness, hopefully to those who need it. It was an emotional conversation and I look forward to bringing him along next year."
