FitzPatrick Station's North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN) employees recently held a food drive to support the families of the Fitzhugh Park Elementary School in Oswego, NY. School statistics show that for many of the children in attendance the daily breakfast and lunch offered at the school is their main source of nutrition. At home, food is often limited and sometimes not available at all. Soon after learning this alarming news the NAYGN team sprang into action, collecting non-perishable food items to be sent home with students for consumption over the Thanksgiving Holiday break.

The food drive was a success thanks to the generosity of the employees of FitzPatrick. Employees were moved by this kind note sent by the school nurse.
The community of people that work at Fitzpatrick are very generous! Your plant served Thanksgiving to 15 families that fed 49 children and 23 adults!!! This is amazing!!! We are so grateful for your help. The majority of our students are living below poverty and qualify for free breakfast and lunch and rely on food being provided at school. When they are home for long weekends and breaks food can be scarce.
I cannot thank you enough,
Karyn Kirwan, school nurse
