Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) and Dresden Operations Shift Supervisor Robert Montgomery was the guest speaker at the station's quarterly veterans breakfast earlier this fall. He had just returned from deployment to East Africa, where he served as the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) Liaison Officer to the U.S. Mission to Somalia.
Montgomery briefed the U.S. Ambassador to Somalia and his Embassy team on the numerous missions and programs of CJTF-HOA. This briefing and guidance was critical for effective U.S. Government coordination in such a complex and large country as Somalia.
As a member of the Security Sector Reform Team, Montgomery worked with the U.S. Embassy staff on managing portfolios for Somalia National Army training, funds for peace-keeping Operations, and security cooperation planning.
After Montgomery's safe return home, the Chicago White Sox honored him as a “Hero of the Game” at one of their home games this season.
Exelon values the leadership abilities, critical thinking skills, adaptability and energy that veterans like Robert bring to the business.
