At this year's 2018 Arena Stage Annual Gala, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser will be presented with the third annual Beth Newburger Schwartz Award and Founder of The Agora Culture, Jessica Stafford Davis will be recognized as an Emerging Leader. Talk about # girlpower.

The Gala will be held on Thursday, May 10 at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth St., SW.)

The awards will be pleasantly presented by Arena Stage Artistic Director, Molly Smith and Executive Director, Edgar Dobie in dedication to the recipients' passion and support of the arts.

Arena Stage is the center for American Theater and strives to produce and present content in the American spirit. Their goal is to "galvanize the transformative power of theater to understand who we are as Americans."

Exelon, America's leading clean energy provider, encourages others to get to know Arena Stage and what it stands for, as we are big supporters of the arts.

We are big supporters of the arts because they believe in improving the quality of life for people in communities where they live, work, and serve.

Exelon believes the arts are beneficial to communities because it enhances one's educational experience, provides additional STEM opportunities for children, and serves as an economic driver as many jobs are required and acquired within this field.

Exelon also emphasizes on giving back to the community. Our employees have volunteered a total of 210,195 hours and gave $52,095,589 in 2017.

So yeah, you can say we are pretty passionate about giving back.
