Children’s Christmas Party at Byron Station

After a long year of safe and error-free performance at Byron Generating Big Bear and girl.JPGStation, employees got a chance on Dec. 1 to have some fun with their kids and grandkids at the annual Byron Station Children's Christmas Party. More than two dozen volunteers helped organize an event for more than 300 children – and the smiles were plentiful!

Guests toured their children through a number of activities, including a photo booth, balloon artists, crafts, games, and of course, photos with Santa. Visitors enjoyed gourmet cookies, and also purchased raffle tickets for some great prizes.

Games 6.JPGThe event generated more than $1,100 for charity and more than a dozen boxes of non-perishable food were collected to help local food banks in Forreston and Polo.

Thanks again to all the volunteers and to Goodwill Committee President Angela Bertolozzi, whose talents will be missed as she heads to Quad Cities to start a new position as a FLS.

A Future Powered by STEM
This August, a stone’s throw from the nation’s capital, 55 young women strategized on how to power a cleaner and brighter future. During Exelon’s second STEM Innovation Leadership Academy more than 80 employee volunteers were on hand to mentor and encourage the young women from District of Columbia-area high schools who participated in the week-long program at the University of Maryland.

Future Powered by STEM7/10/2019 5:00:00 PM
