After a long year of safe and error-free performance at Byron Generating
Station, employees got a chance on Dec. 1 to have some fun with their kids and grandkids at the annual Byron Station Children's Christmas Party. More than two dozen volunteers helped organize an event for more than 300 children – and the smiles were plentiful!
Guests toured their children through a number of activities, including a photo booth, balloon artists, crafts, games, and of course, photos with Santa. Visitors enjoyed gourmet cookies, and also purchased raffle tickets for some great prizes.
The event generated more than $1,100 for charity and more than a dozen boxes of non-perishable food were collected to help local food banks in Forreston and Polo.
Thanks again to all the volunteers and to Goodwill Committee President Angela Bertolozzi, whose talents will be missed as she heads to Quad Cities to start a new position as a FLS.
