Braidwood Station hosted a plant tour with a group Chicago business leaders, who wanted to learn more about Illinois’ six nuclear power plants. The owners, CEOs and presidents on the tour visited the Braidwood main control room, turbine deck and dry cask storage overlook. They also participated in an hour-long Q&A session with Braidwood Plant Manager John Keenan to discuss the business and financial aspects of operating a nuclear power plant.

The business leaders are part of the Presidents Forum, a group of Chicago business executives who share innovative ideas, experience and expertise to expand their personal and corporate growth. In learning about the financial challenges faced by the nuclear industry, the business leaders expressed their hope that Illinois can find a way to keep the plants operating long-term, citing the environmental and reliability benefits of the energy produced at the plants.
