"Our workforce safely replaced a pressure relief valve and completed other maintenance work on the unit that will ensure a reliable run through the hot summer period," said site vice president Tim Tulon.
Byron Unit 1 operated at 100 percent power during the Unit 2 outage.
Byron Generating Station is in Ogle County, Ill., about 25 miles southwest of Rockford.
