POTTSTOWN, PA (Aug. 17, 2009) - Exelon Nuclear employees at Limerick Generating Station recently contributed $65,000 to local charities in the Sixth Annual Limerick Charity Golf Outing, which has raised more than $300,000 for non-profit organizations over its history.
"The employees at Limerick Generating Station have shown that they really care about our organization and the community," said Lou Wentz, program director of Family Services' Meals on Wheels Program. "Their continued support will ensure that our program continues to provide assistance to those who need it most."
This year alone their efforts have included a clothing drive for victims of the Coatesville arson fires and raising more than $15,000 for a local Pottstown family in need. At this year's golf outing, more than 220 golfers helped raise money and awareness for 17 local charities, including:

· Bridge of Hope BuxMont
· Creative Health Services
· Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy
· Salvation Army of Pottstown
· Pottstown Bible Church

· Pottstown Police Athletic League
· Tri-County Community Network
"Limerick employees care a great deal about the community where they live and work," said Chris Mudrick, Limerick Generating Station Site Vice President. "We work tirelessly to make the community a better place by volunteering and raising much needed funds for local charities."
