CLINTON, IL - Clinton Power Station returned to full power today, following electrical repairs on the non-nuclear side of the plant.
The unit automatically shut down Thursday, March 7, when the main generator tripped off line. The main generator is on the non-nuclear side of the plant.
The trip resulted from the failure of a fuse, which has been replaced. A fuse is a device designed to protect electrical systems.
Clinton Power Station is located approximately six miles east of Clinton. The plant produces 1,078 megawatts, enough electricity for about one million homes.
