Exelon filed an application to relicense Muddy Run with FERC in August 2012. Exelon has applied for license renewal using the Integrated Licensing Process (ILP) as set forth in Part 5 of the Commission’s regulations (18 C.F. R. Pt. 5). The ILP was developed to integrate the pre-filing consultation with the Commission’s scoping pursuant to the National Environment Policy Act (NEPA) (42 USC 4321, et seq.).

Shoreline Management Plan

The purpose of the Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) for the Muddy Run Project (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) #3255) is to provide rules and guidelines for managing multiple resources and uses of the Project shoreline so as to ensure the protection and enhancement of the Project’s recreational, environmental, historical, cultural, and scenic resources and the Project’s primary function, the generation of electricity. The overall goal is for the SMP to be a management tool that will enable Exelon to fulfill its license responsibilities and obligations for the Project, including the protection, and enhancement of the Project’s environmental and recreational values.
