Exelon recognized by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for providing clean, affordable and reliable energy

For the 14th consecutive year, Exelon has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for our leadership on environmental policies, pursuit of energy innovation, commitment to employees and track record of community stewardship. Exelon qualified again for this prestigious honor by finishing in the top 20 percent of North American companies in the assessment.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the DJSI as the global standard for measuring leading sustainability driven companies.

At Exelon, our sustainability strategy focuses on providing our customers integrated clean energy solutions and connections. In 2018, utility customers saved over 21.9 million megawatt-hours of energy as a result of Exelon utility energy efficiency programs, which avoided almost 9.9 million metric tons of CO2 from the grid.

We are devoted to addressing climate change. Exelon is a founding member of the Climate Leadership Council and a member of the CEO Climate Dialogue groups. Additionally, Exelon is a gold sponsor of Climate Week NYC 2019. Global climate change is among the most serious challenges facing the world today, and only by working with other businesses, opinion and environmental leaders can we encourage policymakers to pass climate legislation.

In 2018, Exelon and our family of companies, including our employees and the Exelon Foundation, donated nearly $52 million in giving and volunteered more than 240,000 hours to support more than 1,500 projects.
