Tell us about your job at Exelon.
I’m a System Engineer at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station. I’m the responsible engineer for I&C and GEH NUMAC systems and secondary engineer for Reactor Manual Control systems. I’m relied upon as an Engineering Subject Matter Expert. I maintain systems according to design guidelines and prepare maintenance plans for preventative and outage maintenance to support the Corrective Action Program. I’m expected to proactively manage system performance to meet or exceed plant safety, production, and cost goals, and to develop, implement and revise System Performance Monitoring Plans based on inspections, maintenance reports and health trending.
What made you want to work for Exelon?
The need for electricity! There is no denying that our society will always need power to support our lives. I wanted to work for a utility that was making strides to increase their share in the market and diversify its areas in generation and transmission.
What do you like most about working for Exelon?
I like working with the people. You get engaged with people who have high aspirations and have a common goal to see the plant perform reliably. Through relationships and hard work, we do it together.
