Transition from the military to Exelon

Employees with military experience are a highly pursued source of talent. Exelon’s recruiters look for individuals who possess more than job skills.

Through battlefield training, veterans have obtained leadership and management skills. Military veterans also have the skills to easily adapt to any environment and have critical-thinking skills that can increase efficiency and workflow.

Transition Assistance

To continue to position Exelon as a military-friendly work environment, recruitment has been attending military fairs and participating in the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Employer Panels, helping military veterans make a smooth transition to a civilian lifestyle. Exelon has met with Military.com and RecruitMilitary.com to develop partnerships and discuss ideas to attract more military talent in the future.

Candidates with military experience are commonly recruited for positions such as:

  • Initial License Trainees (ILT) to become Senior Reactor Operator at nuclear plants - Navy Nuclear experience is helpful
  • Equipment Operators at nuclear plants
  • Trainees for security positions at nuclear plants

Exelon is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

What if… your military experience could power a brigher future?

Exelon has been recognized as #46 on the 2010 “Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers®” by GI Jobs. This is the first time Exelon has been awarded the honor, joining a group of elite companies on the sixth annual list. There were approximately 2,500 companies eligible for the rankings and only 2% made the list.

In 2009, GI Jobs also highlighted Exelon as a “green” employer.

Next to college campuses, the military is the largest source of new talent in the country, producing nearly 400,000 workers annually. Exelon hires about 100 veterans per year and currently has more than 1,600 veterans working throughout the company.
