Dresden Power Station, Morris, IL - Exelon Nuclear
Meeting engineering challenges
Natalie Hammer first heard about Exelon at an information session at IIT when an Exelon employee talked about their position. Natalie was an undergrad student pursing a degree in Electrical Engineering. She was interested to learn more about Exelon and visited the Exelon booth at the IIT career fair that fall. After interviewing on campus, Natalie was offered a summer internship for Exelon Nuclear and she accepted. She interned the summer before her senior year at the Cantera (Warrenville, IL) office in the Electrical I&C group.
Exelon recruits top engineering talent to ensure world-class levels of performance and safety in our nuclear fleet. Whether you’re a recent graduate or an experienced professional engineer, Exelon has a place for you to grow your career.
“I felt the internship program was extremely beneficial. During my internship, I had the opportunity to visit all Midwest nuclear plants. It allowed me to learn more about the company and the nuclear industry. It reinforced my decision to choose this industry.”
After Natalie graduated from IIT, she accepted a full-time engineering position in the design department at Dresden nuclear power plant. She’s currently pursing her engineering qualifications, and when complete, Natalie will be able to prepare modifications for the plant.
