Overhead Electrician Specialist

Northern IL – ComEd

Edward Foley

Keeping the lights on

Edward Foley likes to go where the action is. "Some Exelon employees can go through their whole career without seeing the power of the electricity we provide," he notes, "but as an Overhead Electrician Specialist (OES), I experience and work with this power every day."

Exelon overhead electricians connect our customers to the network that powers their lives.

“Exelon respects what we do, provides a great living and offers me everything I need to do my job comfortably and most importantly, safely.”

At ComEd Foley experiences this power in many ways, from setting poles and hanging transformers to responding to sudden service disruptions. “What I really love to do is restore the power,” he reports. “After a big storm knocks out the power, the satisfaction of helping customers and the thanks we get are great. When we arrive on a fire call, even firefighters – the true heroes – show us respect.”

Just as important to Foley is the support he receives from Exelon. “Exelon respects what we do, provides a great living and offers me everything I need to do my job comfortably and most importantly, safely. As a traveling contractor for over 20 years, I never planned on staying in one place for very long. But at Exelon, I think I’ve finally found a home.”
