A family of companies

Exelon operates as four operating companies–Exelon Generation, Exelon Transmission Company, ComEd, and PECO–and a corporate services and support unit, Exelon Business Services Company (BSC). Each has a unique dynamic, offering growth opportunities and a corporate culture that fits a variety of personalities and lifestyles.

Exelon Generation

Exelon, through its subsidiary Exelon Generation, owns and controls one of the largest generation portfolios in the country-around 33 gigawatts (GW) of low-cost owned and contracted generation.  It is composed of a diverse mix of fossil, hydro, nuclear and renewable generation facilities.  Exelon Generation is comprised of 3 business units – Exelon Power, Exelon Generation and Power Team.

Exelon Nuclear

Exelon Nuclear, headquartered in Warrenville, Illinois, operates the largest nuclear fleet in the nation and the third largest fleet in the world. Exelon’s 10 plants with 17 reactors represent approximately 20% of the U.S. nuclear industry’s power capacity, enough power to steadily supply millions of average U.S. homes. There are about 8,500 nuclear professionals working in Exelon Nuclear. Whether at the power plant or the headquarters, these professionals implement industry best practices to ensure safe, reliable operation throughout the fleet, which operates at world-class levels.
