Wind farms have become increasingly popular as a source of environmentally friendly energy because no fossil fuel is used to generate the power. | At this exhibit, students can build their own miniature windmills and test them in our custom-made wind tunnel to determine the effectiveness of the design.
Exelon does not own wind facilities, but has contracted for more than 153 megawatts of power generated at four wind farms in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. These agreements have established Exelon as the largest marketer of wind-generated energy east of the Mississippi River.
