Natural Gas Energy Efficiency Rebate Program Requirements
Eligibility Overview

- Rebate is valid only for PECO natural gas customers in our natural gas service area in Bucks, Chester, Delaware or Montgomery counties and for qualified equipment purchase.
- High-efficiency natural gas furnace or boiler. Replace your current natural gas heating system – or convert from another fuel source – and install an ENERGY STAR® qualified, high-efficiency natural gas furnace or boiler. Furnace must have a 90% Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating or greater. Boiler must have an 85% AFUE rating or greater.
- Residential high-efficiency natural gas water heater. Replace your current residential natural gas water heater – or convert to an ENERGY STAR qualified, high-efficiency natural gas water heater that has an Energy Factor (EF) of 0.62 or greater.
- Purchase and install qualifying equipment between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009. Equipment purchases and installations prior to January 1, 2009 do not qualify for a rebate.
- PECO reserves the right to inspect and verify any and all natural gas heating system or water heater installations to ensure compliance with this rebate offer. All rebates will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis according to the terms and conditions.
- Residences and businesses within Philadelphia County receive their natural gas service from PGW and therefore are not eligible for PECO rebates.
- New construction is not eligible for PECO natural gas rebates.
