PECO Community Sponsorships and Programs

PECO has a strong tradition of community involvement. Our goal has been to commit our human and financial resources where they'll have a meaningful impact in our Philadelphia five-county service territory.  Below are just a few of the organizations we support.  We are proud of our relationships and we invite you to join us as event participants, volunteers, and supporters.

PECO Primate Reserve at The Philadelphia Zoo
We invite you to come closer – to the Zoo, the animals and PECO Primate Reserve! PECO is a proud sponsor of PECO Primate Reserve.  The Reserve is designed to resemble and tell the story of an abandoned timber mill that has been converted into a conservation center where scientists work to preserve tropical primate species.  The 2.5-acre facility tells the story of eleven primate species – western lowland gorillas, Sumatran orangutans, white-handed gibbons, blue-eyed lemurs, black-and-white ruffed lemurs, spectacled langurs, black-and-white colobus monkeys, squirrel monkeys, golden lion tamarins, and pygmy marmosets. PECO Primate Reserve is pioneering in design and performance.  Spacious interior dayrooms are equipped with ropes, ladders, cargo nets and a monorail track that were once part of the timber mill operations and now provide opportunities for the animals to explore and play.  For more information, visit the Philadelphia Zoo or call at 215-243-1100.
