Positive Energy Campaign
PECO has launched a Positive Energy Campaign to help provide information about how we are active in the African American community supporting education, arts and culture, anti-violence, and other youth related and community programs.
The information below shows how working together, we can make a difference in the community. See how you can apply your positive energy and make a difference in your community by visiting some of the links to organizations throughout the region making a difference in the community.
Consumer Education: By providing simple tips, like changing an old light bulb to a more efficient compact fluorescent light bulb, or other energy saving practices for the home that can save money and the environment, we’re helping the community apply positive energy toward a brighter future. Want to save energy and save money and see how you can help the environment, visit the Save Energy/Save Money portion of our website.
Anti-Violence: We’ve teamed up with organizations throughout the region to help address issues that fuel violence in our neighborhoods. By working with Mother’s In Charge, were providing our positive energy to help light the way for change. Want to apply your positive energy so that we can all achieve the vision of a safer Philadelphia, visit http://www.mothersincharge.org/
And with our support of the Crime and Drug Free That's Me program, each year more than 400 students get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner working of a crime and drug free life.
Education: PECO knows that positive energy powers the leaders of tomorrow. By working with various civic and community organizations, like Philadelphia Academies Inc., we’re helping prepare young people for employment and post-secondary education. And PECO also supports the American Cities Foundation’s MARS program, which helps middle school students make the difficult transition into high school and assists them in setting long-term goals toward a positive future.
Volunteerism: Our employees express their positive energy in the community every day. PECO employees logged thousands of hours last year volunteering their time and expertise supporting education, arts and culture, anti-violence, and other youth related and community programs.
