How to Apply

PECO has a strong tradition of community involvement – of committing our Energy for the Community.  Our corporate citizenship strategy is designed to improve the quality of life for the people who live and work in our service territory.  Corporate citizenship activities include contributions, sponsorships employee volunteer activities, executive involvement on outside nonprofit boards and in-kind donations. 

Giving Policy:
PECO supports education, the environment, arts and culture, and neighborhood development; while reinforcing our core value of diversity. 

- Energy for Education
Exelon supports lifelong learning programs that seek to accomplish the following results: encourage students to stay in school and develop their full potential, partner with area schools to promote math and science, improve workforce skills and encourage personal development through scholarships, mentoring and internships. 


- Energy for the Environment
PECO contributes to organizations and initiatives whose mission is to improve the quality of our environment by promoting environmental education, conservation and preservation; developing cleaner sources of energy; protecting endangered species; and beautifying neighborhoods.


- Energy for Arts & Culture
The arts are integral to developing world-class cities that attract business and a talented workforce, and promote tourism.  PECO supports cultural institutions with broad public exposure and programs designed to make arts and culture more accessible to a wider audience.


- Energy for Neighborhood Development
To help strengthen the communities in which we serve and work, PECO supports a variety of local and civic organizations.  We contribute financially and encourage employee volunteerism, as well as promote executive involvement on nonprofit community boards. 

Giving Guidelines:
PECO invest in organizations that demonstrate a proven track record in successfully addressing key community needs in the core areas of our contributions program.  We fund programs that can deliver measurable results for sustainable improvements in the communities where we serve and operate our business.  It is PECO’s policy to award only one grant to any given institution within a twelve – month period.  It is not consistent with the company’s contribution strategy to fund general operating expenses.
