You can use the price to compare to estimate your potential savings among the various suppliers.
The table below provides small business to large industrial customers with their average price to compare and a detailed price to compare.
- If you want to estimate your potential savings and obtain a "ball park" figure, you can use the average price to compare.
- If you want a closer estimate of your potential savings you can use the detailed price to compare, which accounts for usage and season.

Energy Delivery
When electricity travels from a power plant, where it is generated, to an electrical facility, like a substation in a neighborhood, this is called transmission. Moving electricity from the electrical facility to your business is called distribution.
You currently pay PECO for both of these services. PECO will continue to provide distribution service to all customers. If you choose another supplier you will no longer be charged for generation and transmission service by PECO. Instead, your supplier will charge for these services.
Metering Choices
In the past, PECO owned, maintained and read your meter. As of January 1999, you have the option to receive advanced metering service from PECO and those suppliers who decide to provide this service.
Advanced metering can be installed at your home or business and read remotely -- without someone visiting your property each month. If you decide to have your supplier provide advanced metering service, the supplier will install a meter. You should discuss the charges and terms for advanced metering service with your supplier.
Currently, PECO charges for metering service are included in the customer charge that appears on your monthly bill. If you decide to receive advanced metering service from another supplier, PECO will no longer charge you for metering service. Instead, your supplier will charge you for this service.
Billing Choices
Suppliers may offer you one or more of the following new billing options:
Option 1: One bill from your supplier which will list PECO's electric distribution charges and your supplier's generation and transmission charges. If you choose this billing option, PECO will no longer charge you for billing service. Instead, your supplier will apply a charge.
Option 2: One bill from PECO containing PECO's electric distribution charges and your supplier's generation and transmission charges. The charge for this service will remain a part of PECO's customer charge as it does today.
Option 3: Two separate bills, one from PECO listing your electric distribution charges, and one bill from your supplier, listing your generation and transmission charges. You will need to contact your supplier to find out if the supplier has a billing charge under this billing scenario.
Note: If you receive electric and gas service from PECO, and you decide to have your supplier provide you with one electric bill, you'll continue to receive a separate bill from PECO for your gas service.
