POTTSTOWN, PA - Exelon Nuclear's Limerick Generating Station donated $150,000 to Limerick Township last night at the township's Board of Supervisors meeting.
Limerick Site Vice President Bill Maguire presented the check, bringing the total amountdonated during the past four years to $600,000. The contribution will provide vital support to the Limerick and Linfield Fire companies, the Limerick Township Police Department and a host of local parks and recreational facilities and programs.
"Limerick Generating Station is a valuable member of our community and we look forward to having them here for many years," said Kara Shuler, Chairman Limerick Township Board of Supervisors. "Their contribution to support our local emergency responders and recreational facilities demonstrates their commitment to our community and dedication to our safety."
"Our goal at Limerick Generating Station is to be both a leader in our community and in the nuclear industry," said Bill Maguire. "Exelon employees have been, and will continue to be, deeply involved in the community and this contribution demonstrates our ongoing commitment to Limerick Township and the region."
In addition to the Limerick Township donation, Exelon and its employees at Limerick Generating Station contribute more than $400,000 to regional charities and community organizations each year.
