Peach Bottom to Host Community Information Night on May 20

Annual Event Helps Inform Residents and Engage Community in Station Operations

Delta, Pennsylvania –Ever wonder how nuclear power is generated or how a nuclear plant operates? If you attend Peach Bottom’s Community Information Night, you’ll find answers to these questions and many more. You’ll also see firsthand how Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station is safely harnessing atomic energy in York County to power two million area homes. The free event will be held in Peach Bottom’s Training Center on Thursday, May 20 from 5-8 p.m.

Station employees will be on hand to educate visitors on station operations; site maintenance; engineering practices; environmental stewardship; industrial safety; radiological safety; site security; emergency preparedness and much more. Visitors can also tour the plant’s control room simulator, which is used for training reactor operators.  Informational handouts and refreshments will be provided.

“We look forward to Community Information Night every year,” said Peach Bottom Site Vice President, Tom Dougherty. “We want our stakeholders to see what we do inside the fence, and how we work hard every day to generate clean and reliable power while protecting the plant, our workers, our neighbors and the environment.”

To ensure the safety of the plant and our guests, the station’s vehicle checkpoint will not be open to Community Information Night guests. Visitors are asked to park in the station’s outer parking lot at 1848 Lay Road. A bus will transport visitors to the training center. If you require special accommodations or have questions about Community Information Night, please contact David Tillman at 717-456-4818 or

Community Information Night is an important part of Peach Bottom’s annual public information and outreach campaign, designed to engage and educate the public on station operations. Throughout the year, Peach Bottom and its employees are very active in the community; volunteering, hosting tours, visiting area schools, appearing at community events and financially supporting dozens of civic organizations.
