Pottstown, PA - Operators at Limerick Generating Station took Unit 1 off-line early this morning for planned inspections of its low-pressure turbine blades. The inspections will help ensure that Limerick Generating Station continues to operate safely, efficiently and reliably and can only be performed when the unit is off-line.
Limerick Unit 1 will return to service after the inspections and any repairs and testing are complete.
Limerick Generating Station is located approximately 21 miles northwest of Philadelphia. With both units at full power, the site can produce enough carbon-free electricity for two million homes.
