Nine Mile Point Employee Giving Campaign Raises More Than $135K for Charity

Here at Nine Mile Point, one of the ways in which we demonstrate our Pride in the Point is by giving back to our very supportive community.  A great way to do that is through our annual Employee Giving Campaign.

This year's campaign was very successful, coming in nearly $20,000 ahead of last year for a total of $135,950. The Exelon Foundation will match every dollar with a $.50 gift to our local United Way agency – United Way of Greater Oswego County.

The employees of Nine Mile Point recognize their ability to work together to help make significant improvements in our communities and fund services that improve the lives of those around us. Our United Way provides funds to partner agencies such as Arise Child and Family Services, Child Advocacy Center, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, the Girl Scouts, Human Concerns and countless other local community service organizations.

In addition to contributing through the company-wide campaign, the site's campaign committee held many fundraisers, including a Senior Leadership Team "pie in the face" contest, that raised nearly $3,000, which will also be provided to United Way of Greater Oswego county.

"Exelon Generation and the employees of Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station are proud to be able to support the important work done by our United Way to serve those in need across Oswego County," said Pete Orphanos, Site Vice President- Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station. "This community has been tremendously supportive of our company and of nuclear technology.  We are committed to giving back and continuing to be an engaged part of this community."
