LaSalle Unit 1 at Full Power

MARSEILLES, Ill. (June 28, 2017) — LaSalle County Station Unit 1 returned to full power today following scheduled maintenance on a valve that controls one of several backup sources of water to the nuclear reactor. The unit was removed from service on June 23.

At full power, LaSalle Station's two generating units produce more than 2,300 megawatts of carbon-free electricity, enough to power more than two million typical American homes. LaSalle Station is located about 75 miles southwest of Chicago near Marseilles, Ill.
