Nearly 100 LaSalle Station employees volunteered their time and talents to rehabilitate six homes in the LaSalle County Area as part of the United Way of Eastern LaSalle County’s Labor of Love program. LaSalle Station has been a signature sponsor of the annual, one-day home improvement blitz for the past 14 years.
In a Times article, Facilities Supervisor Ed Miller, who was born and raised in Ottawa, described the event as “neighbors helping neighbors.” Volunteers spend the day painting, cleaning and repairing the homes of elderly, disabled and low-income homeowners.
In addition to providing an army of volunteers for Labor of Love, LaSalle Station contributed $15,000 and other supplies for the event.
