Limerick Generating Station Partners with Preservation Pottstown and Other Organizations to help Revitalize Downtown Pottstown
Over the past two years, Limerick Generating Station has donated $8,500 to assist Preservation Pottstown’s efforts to improve the Pottstown area.
POTTSTOWN, Pa. - As you travel down High Street in Pottstown, you have likely noticed store fronts with large photographs in the windows or maybe you have taken the opportunity to tour Pottstown on a bicycle from the Bike Pottstown Program. The photographs and bikes are just a few of the programs that Preservation Pottstown has been able to provide through the continued support of Limerick Generating Station.
"All of our programs are made possible because of contributions from local businesses like Limerick Generating Station," said Tom Carroll, Preservation Pottstown President. "They understand the important role that Pottstown plays in the region and are committed to its revitalization."
Over the past two years, Limerick Generating Station has donated $8,500 to assist Preservation Pottstown's efforts to improve the Pottstown area. In addition, Limerick Generating Station has donated more than $140,000 since 2009 to local charities and organizations that directly provide services to the residents of Pottstown. These organizations include the Tri-County Performing Arts Center, Foundation for Pottstown Education, and the YWCA Tri-County.
"We are pleased to have formed such a strong partnership with Limerick Generating Station and look forward to their continuing support as we begin several new initiatives in Pottstown," said Jason Bobst, Pottstown Borough Manager. "Exelon's generosity reinforces their commitment to the community and we look forward to having them be a part of Pottstown for many years to come."
"Over the past few years we have worked closely with several local organizations to provide resources to help revitalize downtown Pottstown," said Bill Maguire, Limerick Generating Station Site Vice President. "We know the importance of being a good neighbor and we are dedicated to partnering with other organizations that share our philosophy."
