MORRIS, Ill. (Sept. 7, 2010) - For the ninth consecutive year, Exelon Nuclear's Dresden Generating Station will sponsor the fireworks display at the Grundy County Corn Festival on Saturday, Sept. 25, at Stratton Park in Morris.
"We are proud to provide the electricity that lights our neighbors' homes," said Tim Hanley, Dresden site vice president. "And each year during Corn Fest, we are honored to help light up the Grundy County sky with a spectacular fireworks show."
The Corn Festival, which is celebrating its 62nd year, runs from Wednesday, Sept. 22, through Sunday, Sept. 26. In addition to the fireworks display, the festival features a wide range of family-oriented activities and entertainment, including exhibits, food, music and contests.
"The continuing support of Exelon Nuclear allows us to provide an outstanding show year after year," said Corn Festival Board President John Sparrow. "We are proud of this partnership and thank Exelon for its generosity. I know everyone will enjoy the show."
The display will have a music simulcast broadcast on WCSJ FM 103.1 and WJDK FM 95.7. The fireworks show will again be provided by Central States Fireworks and is coordinated by Jeff Shaw of Morris.
