Limerick Generating Station Sponsors Fun for Families at Schuylkill River Festival

POTTSTOWN, PA (August 11, 2009) – Exelon Nuclear’s Limerick Generating Station will again be a major sponsor of the Schuylkill River Festival. The festival is organized by Montgomery County Community College and continues the strong partnership between the College and Limerick Generating Station. Held in Pottstown on Oct. 10, the festival will offer a day of food, games, crafts, entertainment and activities for families.
“We are pleased that Exelon Nuclear is once again demonstrating its commitment to the Schuylkill River and the environment by sponsoring the festival,” said Dr. Karen A. Stout, president, Montgomery County Community College. “Last year, more than 7,500 people attended the event, and we expect even more this year as we continue to build a strong tradition in the Pottstown community.”
Exelon Nuclear contributed $5,000 to the festival.
“Limerick Generating Station is committed to being a good corporate neighbor,” said Chris Mudrick, Limerick Site Vice President. “We are excited that funds raised from the festival will support a great educational institution such as Montgomery County Community College.”
The Third Annual Schuylkill River Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at River Front Park, along College Drive in Pottstown and at Montgomery County Community College’s campus in Pottstown.
