Constellation’s Tristram Thomas and Back on My Feet Baltimore

At Exelon, individual initiative drives our success.

For Tristram, running is a way of life. His passion for running has led him to be an active volunteer at Back on My Feet – Baltimore (BoMF), an organization dedicated to combatting homelessness through the power of running, community support, and essential employment and housing resources.

Since he started working with the organization in 2014, Tristram has assumed greater responsibility, including serving as a member of the Young Professional’s Board, actively recruiting his colleagues to get involved, and raising record-breaking funds (including more than $11,000 for their 2017 Sneaks Come Out at Night 15k race.) As someone whose own life has been shaped by running and the running community, Tristram is dedicated to supporting BoMF clients on 5:30 a.m. runs. He sees the same spark and excitement of BoMF members as they build confidence, stabilize their lives, and are embraced by fellow runners to get back on their feet with their own pastimes.

Tristram is honored to have received the Excellence Award from Exelon, and says that “working for a company that recognizes the importance of community activism and supports that activism in a meaningful way is a privilege.” With the grant, BoMF plans to grow and support its newly created team in Pennsylvania.

About the Exelon Energy for the Community Employee Volunteer Awards Program

Each year, Exelon makes grants totaling $200,000 in honor of 24 outstanding employee volunteers for their work in the community. Nonprofits will receive grants of $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000. Since 2007, the Awards Program has recognized almost employees and provided more than $1.5 million to their nonprofit partners.

At Exelon, individual initiative drives our success.

Volunteerism is part of who we are. Our employees are purpose-driven in their work – as well as in their free time. In 2017, 7,808 Exelon employees spent more than 210,000 hours volunteering with nonprofits in the diverse communities we serve. We encourage them to track their hours so we can recognize and reward their work.
