Corporate Responsibility
Water

Exelon continues to review water use at company facilities and to explore opportunities to use water resources more efficiently and effectively.  We are developing plans to reduce consumptive water use where cost effective and practical. To support restoration and maintenance of native fish species, we are committed to continuing programs to reduce aquatic impacts.

We are also helping our communities to clean up their waterways.  Gregg Vines, a chemical technician at Handley Generating Station, coordinated Earth Day trash clean-up efforts on Lake Arlington (in Texas) in 2006 and 2007.  Taking the initiative, Gregg reached out directly to local officials from Arlington, Fort Worth and other area communities, the Arlington Lake Patrol, and the Tarrant County Regional Water District to coordinate the events, which Exelon Power sponsored exclusively. These efforts earned Gregg the 2007 Chairman’s Environmental Stewardship Award.
