Economic Development
Exelon Generation is developing Antelope Valley (AV) Solar Ranch One, a 230-meagwatt solar project, which is currently under construction in northern Los Angeles County, Calif. The project will deliver economic benefits to the local community and the state of California, including the generation of state and local tax revenues and creation of up to 400 construction jobs and up to 15 ongoing operations and maintenance positions, with an emphasis on hiring workers from the local area. The project is expected to come online in late 2012, and full operation is planned for late 2013. The company also has ownership interest in a solar power plant and a hydroelectric power plant in California.
Exelon’s competitive energy sales company, Constellation, provides commercial, industrial, public sector and government agencies, municipalities and utilities with a comprehensive array of products and services to meet electricity, natural gas, and sustainability needs. Constellation provides competitive pricing for electricity as well as renewable energy options for residential customers.
Environmental Commitment
When fully operational, AV Solar Ranch One will be one of the largest PV solar projects in the world, with approximately 3.8 million solar panels generating enough clean, renewable electricity to power the equivalent of 75,000 average homes per year.

Power Plants

Malacha
Malacha is a pumped storage hydroelectric facility located in McArthur, California. Exelon has a 50 percent (16 MW) ownership interest in the station. The station’s full capacity is 32 MW. Power generated at Malacha is sold to Pacific Gas & Electric and serves most of the northern two thirds of California.

SEGS
