Developing clean energy for California

In southern California, Exelon is currently developing one of the world’s largest solar projects which will produce clean energy and will deliver economic benefits to the local community and the state of California.

Economic Development

Exelon Generation is developing Antelope Valley (AV) Solar Ranch One, a 230-meagwatt solar project, which is currently under construction in northern Los Angeles County, Calif. The project will deliver economic benefits to the local community and the state of California, including the generation of state and local tax revenues and creation of up to 400 construction jobs and up to 15 ongoing operations and maintenance positions, with an emphasis on hiring workers from the local area.  The project came online in 2012, and full operation is planned soon.  The company also has ownership interest in a solar power plant and a hydroelectric power plant in California.

Exelon’s competitive energy sales company, Constellation, provides commercial, industrial, public sector and government agencies, municipalities and utilities with a comprehensive array of products and services to meet electricity, natural gas, and sustainability needs. Constellation provides competitive pricing for electricity as well as renewable energy options for residential customers.

Environmental Commitment

When fully operational, AV Solar Ranch One will be one of the largest PV solar projects in the world, with approximately 3.8 million solar panels generating enough clean, renewable electricity to power the equivalent of 75,000 average homes per year.

Constellation works with its customers to reduce energy consumption as well as offers renewable and sustainable options including:

  • Solar
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Renewable Energy certificates
  • Load response solutions
