A word or PDF resume (we cannot open wps) is requested. <br><br><br>PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION<br>Protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against any act of radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of special nuclear material. As specified by procedure and the site security plan, maintain a secure perimeter for site access and egress and employee, contractor and visitor entry. <br><br>MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:<br>Item Accountability<br>1 Maintain qualifications for position<br>2 Conduct patrols and inspections<br>3 Monitor access to security areas<br>4 Perform search activities<br>5 Respond to threats and contingency events<br>6 Perform equipment testing<br><br><br>POSITION SPECIFICATIONS :<br><br>Education and Experience: <br>High School diploma<br>Possess a valid Driver�s License<br>Must be a minimum of 21 years of age<br>Must pass appropriate qualifying examination<br>Previous experience in security, law enforcement or applicable military service. <br><br>Full understanding and appreciation for procedures, policies, processes and practices. <br>Ability to use the technology and equipment associated with both the Security Officer and those positions assigned to the Security Lead/Security Supervisor. <br><br>Be able to pass extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and educational verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle. <br><br>No active discipline within the last 24 months. <br>Physical Behavioral Qualifications:<br>Satisfactory attendance record. <br><br>Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing, walking long distances, and standing for the majority of the time and other physical requirements necessary to respond to threats to the facility such as running, visual acuity for target selection and other demands. <br>Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. <br><br>Demonstrated leadership skills to include attention to safety (personal and environmental schedules, equipment and its efficient use, and the use of employees to get the job done. <br>Effective communication skills in all directions<br><br>Preferred:<br>* Current or Prior Service in the US Armed Forces<br>* Current or Prior Law Enforcement experience<br>* Current or Prior Security experience<br>* AS/BS in Criminal Justice<br>Ability to plan and organize work through scheduling and making appropriate assignments to best utilize available talent. <br><br>POSITION SCOPE<br>Perform search, patrol, and inspections in accordance with the Station Security Plan, procedures, and post orders. <br><br>DISCLAIMER<br>The preceding position description is intended to provide the general nature and level of work to be performed by employees within this classification.
