Energize your career at Exelon!<br><br>PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION<br><br>Manage the personnel and activities of all sections of the Distribution Planning Department, including preparation of area capacity reinforcement plans, customer capacity planning strategy and planning support to others including the OCC (Operation Control Center), Regional Engineering and Operations, TSO (Transmission System Operation), LCS (Large Customer Services), Legal and Regulatory areas, Safety and Environmental Services, etc.   Assure the development and effective implementation of strategic initiatives. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. <br><br> PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES<br><br>- Manages the development and implementation of short and long term strategic initiatives designed to assure the highest levels of customer services and to achieve Exelons safety, reliability and performance goals. <br><br>- Functionally focused balancing a mix of day-to-day operations and policy with strategic planning. <br><br>- Provides direction on core philosophies to the Company. <br><br>- Makes decisions on key business activities, which have a direct impact on the department or operations, indirect impact on other departments and/or the Company<br><br>- Miscalculation might have long recovery period. <br><br>- Manage the overall budget of the department and capacity expansion initiatives. <br><br>- Establish and monitor corporate business plans and business unit objectives. <br><br>- Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization. <br><br>- Promote safety and diversity. <br><br>- Serves as a change agent for business initiatives and assures the human element is understood and considered. <br><br>- Assure timely recognition of employee contributions. <br><br>- Provide leadership to and development of the management team. <br><br>- Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. <br><br>- Conduct performance planning and appraisals. <br><br>- Identify opportunities for growth and learning. <br><br>- Establish, maintain and improve relationships with other departments in Exelon. <br><br>- Facilitates open and honest communication with staff. <br><br>- Assures that upward communication is integrated into the process, including employee concerns and complaints. <br><br>- Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives. <br><br>POSITION SPECIFICATIONS<br><br>Minimum: <br><br>- Bachelor degree in Engineering<br><br>- At least 10 years of industry experience including at least 4 years as a supervisor or manager. <br><br>- Broad knowledge of company, department policies, objectives, strategies, and goals planning role applicable governmental laws and regulations. <br><br>- Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change. <br><br>- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of regulatory issues. <br><br>- Proven leadership ability in a high performance culture. <br><br>- Demonstrated business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value. <br>Preferred: <br><br>- Graduate degree or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or related field. <br><br>- Licensed Professional Engineer<br><br>- Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels. <br><br>- Strong written and oral communication skills. <br><br>- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance. <br>
